Mercado Municipal de Loule
Market, Algarve News
Loule's municipal market is housed in a neo-Moorish building with distinctive red-and-white horseshoe arches, originally constructed in 1908. The Saturday morning market is one of the Algarve's finest, drawing locals and visitors for fresh fish, meat, fruit, vegetables, cheeses, honey, and dried fruits. Upstairs stalls sell local crafts, leather goods, and handmade baskets. The surrounding streets host an outdoor market with clothing, household goods, and plants. The market operates daily but Saturday is the main event, when the building is packed and the atmosphere is at its liveliest. It is an essential Algarve experience and a genuine working market rather than a tourist attraction.
