Rua Candido dos Reis connects the central baixa area of Faro to the streets north of the city centre. The street has a mixed character, with shops and cafes at its southern end giving way to residential properties and offices further north. It is a secondary commercial street that complements the main pedestrianised routes. Several restaurants and small businesses line the street, serving the local population. The street is named after the naval officer and republican politician Carlos Candido dos Reis, who played a role in the 1910 revolution.
