Rua Conselheiro Bivar is a street in central Faro running from the Jardim Manuel Bivar (the waterfront garden) into the commercial centre. The street is named after a local dignitary and contains a mix of hotels, banks, shops, and restaurants. It connects the leisure waterfront area to the more commercial baixa streets. The Hotel Faro, one of the city's larger hotels, is located at the southern end near the garden. The street has a central-city character, busy during business hours and quieter in the evenings. It forms part of the pedestrian route between the marina and the main shopping streets.
