Rua de Santo Antonio, Faro
Street guide, Algarve News
Rua de Santo Antonio is the main pedestrianised shopping street in Faro, running from Praca Dr Francisco Gomes towards the north of the city centre. The street is lined with shops, cafes, banks, and commercial premises, and serves as the everyday shopping spine for Faro residents. Traditional Portuguese retailers sit alongside international chains. The street is paved and car-free, with cafe tables spilling onto the pavement in warmer months. It connects to Rua do Compromisso and other commercial streets that form the core of Faro's baixa (downtown). Unlike the old walled town, this area has a functional, commercial character.
